The Challenge

The Southbank office was required to support ongoing business growth, flexible team structures and strong sustainability outcomes, while prioritising thoughtful, enduring design over trend-driven solutions. The workplace needed to reflect Tonkin + Taylor’s values not only aesthetically, but also operationally and environmentally.

As with many professional services organisations, the project required a careful balance between commercial constraints and the need for adaptability over time, while prioritising ESG outcomes around reuse and environmental performance. Throughout, it was essential to maintain a high level of design quality without excess.

The Solution

Agero worked closely with Tonkin + Taylor’s leadership team, acting not only as a builder but as a strategic advisor throughout the project. Our involvement extended beyond delivery to include workplace strategy discussions, advice on future growth and site planning, the reuse and rationalisation of existing elements and construction management and consulting services beyond the base scope.

Design decisions were guided by principles of intelligent planning, longevity and sustainability, ensuring alignment with Tonkin + Taylor’s core purpose. The completed workspace is calm, flexible and thoughtfully considered, supporting both focused technical work and collaboration. Sustainability outcomes were embedded through deliberate reuse strategies and considered material selection, reinforcing Tonkin + Taylor’s leadership in ESG.

The project further strengthened a relationship built on alignment, trust, and shared standards, with Agero continuing to support Tonkin + Taylor across multiple projects and advisory engagements.
